This part has me feeling quite nostalgic. I started working for a rather large DJ company at quite a young age and after much on-site training, performed my first wedding in 1996. Since then I have entertained at over 1,500 weddings (I stopped counting other events years ago) and I still love it! From the tearful bride at the end of the night, thanking me for helping her make her wedding day dreams come true. To the little flower girl dancing to her favorite song. It is such a personal moment that I am so proud to be a part of.
I love the technological advancements that I have seen and utilized. The science of sound still amazes me. How to properly and uniformly fill a room with clean sound that sounds amazing at any volume.
Now for the music, oh the music! As much as an experienced, professional DJ can control the flow of your event, it still comes down to the music. And I still have a passion for that. Always studying, researching and purchasing new music. Some of my favorite times are having a few DJ friends over to share some new or classic gems. When the switch from analog to digital came about it took me over a year to completely convert my CD collection. Now, with an ever-expanding collection of over 280,000 songs and over 75,000 music videos there are not many requests that I cannot honor. But let's face it, not every guest request may be appropriate for your event. That is where experience comes in handy.
